Alive

Next date Friday 13th June
Monthly Fridays 7- 9pm
Caddaford Barns, Buckfastliegh, TQ11 0JT
A two hour class to DJ’ed world beats. This class will start with a 45 minute long somatic warm up to take us from slow and soft, to full bodied alive and from there 75 minutes for your own dance with minimal instruction. Music will start slow and then gather rhythm and expression.

All bodies are welcome, as is contact improvisation.

“Alive is epic! A beautiful fusion space that welcomes dancing in contact with others as well as solo movement. Beginning with a thorough Body Mind Centring warm up always really deepens my experience—it brings me into relationship with the floor, my own body and others in such a rich way, meaning I enter the dance with grounding, sensitivity and presence. Jamus’ DJ’ing is eclectic, juicy and creatively mixed, with plenty of spaciousness and some strong
beats too.I can’t wait to come again!”

In this class, we’ll engage with pulse and flow of our bodies.
July 8: Movement in Time, Space, and Weight
Investigate how our fluid bodies move through the dimensions of time and space.
July 29: Fat and Fascia
In our final session, we’ll delve into the often-overlooked realms of fat and fascia, those layers that cradle and connect us.

“Jamus’ classes have deepened my relationship with my body in such a profound, tender, beautiful way. I love the way he weaves music, movement, group inquiry, somatic awareness and physiology into each session—I come out each time feeling regulated, ever more intimate with myself and connected to the miracle of being in a body. I cant recommend this work enough!”

Dartmoor
Dates to be confirmed.
Take your walking into the wild lands of Dartmoor. We will step beyond the veil of our familiar lives into wilder and old places of oak, moss and stone. Ac, the anglo saxon rune of Oak, will guide us into our realtionship to strength and weakness, rootedness and community, cycles and seeds.
Together Duncan and Jamus will guide and invite you to drop down into your connection to self, roots, land and particularly the rune Ac and its representation in nature, the Oak.
